The doctorate scholarship program of the Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation will assist scholars in developing into active leaders who are cognizant of present and future societal concerns and receptive to novel modes of knowledge. The Foundation is seeking applicants who are audacious, innovative, and cutting-edge.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Applicants must be enrolled in or accepted into a full-time doctoral program in their first or second year.
- Applicants must be permanent residents of Canada, or foreign nationals enrolled in a Ph.D. program at a Canadian university, or Canadian citizens studying in a Canadian or international institution.
- Applicants must be linked to at least one of the four main themes of the Foundation:
- Human rights and human dignity,
- Responsible citizenship,
- Canada and the world,
- Populations and their natural environment.

All eligible candidates must apply online to be considered for the scholarship.
Value of the Scholarship:
