For current students enrolled in undergraduate or graduate programs at the University of Melbourne who wish to study abroad, the university provides a variety of scholarships and awards. A portion of scholarships are given out for academic achievement, while others are given to help students in need.
Eligibility Criteria for the Mobility Awards:
- Applicants may come from any nationality.
- Applicants must be enrolled in an undergraduate or postgraduate program at the university.
- Applicants must spend a minimum of 3 weeks studying abroad as part of a semester or year-long program at the University of Melbourne, a short-term program, or a University of Melbourne Overseas Subject.
- Applicants must not have received a Mobility Award for overseas study that was part of the current course.
- Applicants must not have received a New Colombo Plan Mobility Grant for the same overseas experience.
- Applicants must not have received a New Colombo Plan Scholarship.
Application Process:
- All eligible candidates must complete and submit the Mobility Awards application.
- The application should be submitted as soon as the exchange destination is allocated.
Value of the Scholarship:
The successful candidates are granted the following awards:
- The Melbourne Global Scholars Award and USA Foundation Scholarship (One-off payment)
- AU$ 1,000 - Students undertaking overseas study for at least 3 weeks and up to 12 weeks, or
- AU$ 2,500 - Students undertaking overseas study for 12 weeks or more.
- The Melbourne Global Financial Assistance Grant and John and Betty McCreery Travelling/ Study Scholarship
- Up to AU$ 5,000 - One-off payment
- The University House Travel Scholarship
- Up to AU$ 5,000 - One-off payment
