Purpose of the Scholarship:
This Scholarship aims to support domestic students enrolled in the first year of a Bachelor of Information Technology or an undergraduate degree in Education who have relocated from outside Canberra.
Eligibility for the Andrew F Dennis Rural Scholarship:
- The Scholarship is open for consideration for domestic students from outside Canberra in the first year of a Bachelor of Information Technology or Bachelor of Education.
- Students must also demonstrate financial disadvantage, volunteering, and community engagement, and address barriers and challenges faced in the application form.
Selection Criteria:
The Selection Committee comprises representatives from Global Student Recruitment, Student Connect, Student Life, and relevant Faculties. The committee will consider the following parameters in the application form:
- 50% Barriers or challenges faced
- 25% Financial need
- 25% Volunteer/Community Engagement
Value of the Scholarship:
The value of each scholarship is determined by Professor Peter Dennis and Dr Iréna Svilans-Dennis and is currently valued at $3,000 paid as a one-off payment.
