In order to guarantee that Ontario draws and keeps top researchers on autism, the Ministry of Colleges and Universities (MCU) supported the creation of the Autism Scholars Awards Program. In order to improve children's health through more effective services and products for children with autism, the Autism Scholars Awards Program seeks to create a research community that meets or exceeds internationally recognized standards of scientific excellence. This will increase the province's ability to diagnose and assess autistic children and the caliber of its treatment program.
