CSC-VUB Scholarship Programme 2025-26

The China Scholarship Council (CSC) and the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) jointly offer doctoral and postdoctoral scholarships to Chinese researchers. These scholarships aim to facilitate academic collaboration between VUB and top Chinese universities in various disciplines.

Eligibility Criteria of the Scholarship:

• For full PhD (3-4 years):

1. The applicant must be a Chinese national.
2. The applicant must meet the CSC eligibility requirements.
3. The applicant must be a final year Master's student from a Chinese university or;
   • A final year Master's student from a university outside of China or;
   • A student who already obtained a Master's degree or;
   • A first-year PhD student currently enrolled in a university outside of China.

• For jointly supervised PhD (6-24 months):

1. The applicant must be a Chinese national.
2. The applicant must meet the CSC eligibility requirements.
3. The applicant must be a current PhD student enrolled in a Chinese university.

• For postdoctoral and visiting scholars:

1. The applicant must be a Chinese national.
2. The applicant must contact professors or research group by yourself by referring to the PhD topics mentioned above or visit our research portal: https://researchportal.vub.be/.

Application Process:

All eligible candidates must apply online to be considered for the scholarship.

Value of the Scholarship:

• Monthly allowance for the allocated period;
• International flight offered by CSC; 
• Tuition fee waiver and health insurance offered by VUB.
