The Teaching Excellence and Achievement Program (TEA) is a program of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the U.S. Department of State and implemented by IREX, a Washington, DC-based nonprofit organization.
Eligibility for the Teaching Excellence And Achievement Program:
- Students need to be secondary-level with at least a Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent, full-time teachers with three or more years of classroom experience in either English as a Foreign Language, Social Studies, Math, and Sciences, including special education teachers in those subjects.
- Students need to be classified as citizens of Latvia.
- Students should have proficiency in written and spoken English and a minimum TOEFL score from 45 to 46 iBT.
- Students must continue teaching for at least five years after completion of the program.
- Applicants must hold at least a Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent
