Student RSCA Competition (SRC) at College of Science 2025

Eligibility

• The Student RSCA Competition (SRC) is open to both graduate and undergraduate students at San Jose State University (SJSU) who are actively involved in original research, scholarship, or creative activities (RSCA).
• To be eligible, students must be currently enrolled at SJSU or be alumni who graduated in the spring, summer, or fall of 2022.
• Applicants must be working on original RSCA projects in collaboration with a faculty member at SJSU.
• The competition provides an opportunity for students to present their work and compete for a chance to represent SJSU at the Celebration of Research and the Annual California State University (CSU) Student Research Competition.

• The Student RSCA Competition (SRC) allows students to gain valuable experience by presenting their original research before a panel of subject matter experts at SJSU.
• The competition offers a platform for students to receive constructive feedback on their RSCA, which can enhance the quality of their work.
• Finalists from the competition will be selected to represent SJSU at two prestigious events: the Celebration of Research at SJSU and the CSU-wide Annual Student Research Competition held at San Diego State University.
• Each finalist or finalist group will receive a $300 award to support travel expenses for the statewide competition.

• To apply for the Student RSCA Competition (SRC), students must submit their application by the specified deadline, which is typically in early February (e.g., February 10, 2023, for the 2022-2023 program).
