Eligibility

• The New York State Scholarships for Academic Excellence are awarded to outstanding graduates from registered New York State high schools.
• The award is based on student performance in certain Regents exams.
• This scholarship is available for up to five years of undergraduate study at an approved institution in New York State.

Application Process

To apply for the New York State Scholarships for Academic Excellence:

• Contact your high school guidance counselor for application details and procedures.
• To receive payment, students must submit a payment application to the Higher Education Services Corporation (HESC) by June 30 of each year.
• The payment application is made by filing the FAFSA and the NYS TAP on the Web application.
