Janet O'Connor Postgraduate Scholarship at The University of Sydney

This scholarship was established in 2015 and was donated to the University of Sydney by Janet O'Connor to support female students pursuing further degrees in writing or related fields. This fellowship financially supports deserving female students pursuing a master's degree in creative writing or English studies at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.

Eligibility for Janet O'Connor Postgraduate Scholarship:

• The applicant must be female.
• The applicant should hold an unconditional offer of admission.
• The applicant must be enrolled full-time in the first year of one of the following programs:
  • Master of Creative Writing
  • Master of English Studies
• Applicants transferring from a Graduate Diploma in English Studies or a Graduate Diploma in Creative Writing are ineligible.
• Applicants in receipt of another scholarship are not eligible.

Application Process:

This scholarship is awarded on a merit basis and hence does not require an application.

Value of the Scholarship:

• A full-time recipient will be awarded $10,000 for a maximum of three semesters.
• If approved, a part-time recipient will get $5,000 yearly for up to six semesters.
