Indigenous Laptop Scholarship

• The Indigenous Laptop Scholarship is designed to assist Indigenous undergraduate, postgraduate, and Vocational Education and Training (VET) students at Swinburne University by providing a Lenovo laptop to help with their studies.
• This scholarship aims to bridge the digital divide and support students in their academic journey.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the Indigenous Laptop Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Nationality: Applicants must be Australian citizens who are of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander heritage.
• Evidence of this can be provided through a Confirmation of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Heritage certificate (COA) or a certified Statutory Declaration.
• Course Eligibility: The scholarship is open to commencing or continuing students enrolled in VET, undergraduate, postgraduate coursework, or Higher Degree by Research (HDR) courses offered by Swinburne University.
• Financial Hardship: Applicants must demonstrate financial hardship by providing evidence such as a Health Care Card, Youth Allowance, Austudy, ABSTUDY, Disability Support Pension, or Carer’s Payment.
• Additionally, bank statements or salary slips can be submitted if accompanied by an explanation in the personal statement.
• Personal Statement: Applicants are required to submit a 300-word personal statement explaining how receiving the laptop will assist them in their studies.
