Eligibility Criteria:
- The applicant must be a citizen of the People's Republic of China.
- The applicant must have received an offer of admission to a Ph.D program at the University.
- The applicant must have completed at least a four-year undergraduate degree, with the equivalent of a minimum overall average grade of H2A (or 75%) achieved at the University of Melbourne with a significant research component.
- The applicants must meet minimum English language requirements.
Application Process:
- The candidates must first apply to the University of Melbourne for a PhD program.
- They must apply to the CSC for the living allowance scholarship.
Value of the Scholarship:
The University of Melbourne will offer the following benefits:
- Full tuition fees for four years,
- Additional living allowance of about $14,200 annually.
China Scholarship Council (CSC) will offer the following benefits:
- A living stipend of about $22,800 annually encompassing Overseas Student Health Cover,
- Return airfare between China and Melbourne by the most economical route,
- Visa application fees.
