The Uhl Scholarship, the school's most distinguished prize, was created using memorial money set up in Dean Uhl's honour upon his passing in 1979. From 1935 until 1950, Arthur Hoyt Uhl ('21, MS'27, PhD'30) was the University of Wisconsin School of Pharmacy's third director. From 1950 to 1968, he was the school's first dean.
