Summer Turing Scheme Funding at University of Essex 2024

Students participating in shorter-term (minimum 28-day) programs such as summer schools, overseas internships, and volunteering abroad may be eligible for financing under the Turing Scheme. These events can happen anywhere in the globe. Please be aware that the university only has limited money available. Students must apply for this assistance, and it is recommended that they review the qualifying requirements listed below before doing so. 

Eligibility: 

• Students whose family income is £25,000 or less per year (as determined and confirmed by Student Finance England or another UK supplier of student financing).
• Students who are self-supporting financially and are eligible for income-related benefits such as Universal Credit
• Care leavers and students with prior experience in care. This includes looked-after children who were adopted, anyone who uses the Care Experienced Bursary in Scotland, and anybody who has ever been in care or is presently in care, regardless of how brief their stay may have been.
• students who are irreversibly cut off from their parent(s) are referred to as estranged pupils.
• Asylum seekers and refugees.
