The Harry S. Truman Scholarship Foundation 2025-26

The Harry S. Truman Scholarship Foundation – the federal memorial to their thirty-third President – awards merit-based scholarships to college students who plan to pursue careers in government or elsewhere in public service. 

Eligibility Criteria of the Scholarship:

• Applicants must be US Citizens, US National residents of American Samoa, or expecting their citizenship by the date of the award.
• Applicants must be currently enrolled at a US-based accredited institution.
• Applicants can be of any age.
• Applicants graduating in four years or more must be in the penultimate year of school.
• Applicants graduating in three years or less must be in the final year of school.
• Applicants must be nominated by their current institution.
• Applicants must be planning to attend graduate school in pursuit of a career in public service (except MBA).

Application Process: 

• The applicants must first contact their campus ambassador for the application process as it varies from institution to institution.
• The applicants are required to submit an online application.

Value of the Scholarship:

The selected candidates can avail of the following benefits:

• Up to $30,000;
• Truman Scholars Leadership Week;
• Participation in an eight-week Summer Institute in Washington, DC;
• Truman-Albright and Other Fellows Program.
