Rolling Stone Scholarship at Southern Cross University 2023

Brief Description:

The Scholarship was offered in both 2021 and 2022 and covers a total value of $15,000 over 3 years for Southern Cross University’s Bachelor of Contemporary Music degree at either our Lismore or Coomera campuses. If you dream one day of performing in front of thousands at massive festivals around Australia or are keen on teaching music to young students, then this is the degree for you. At Southern Cross, we believe that finding your rhythm and moving to your beat is fundamental to transforming tomorrow, and look forward to you joining us to discover all there is to know about the production, performance, songwriting, or other professional areas of the music industry.

Eligibility for the Rolling Stone Scholarship:

• Applicants must be either Australian citizens or permanent resident visa holders (general or humanitarian).
• Candidates should be commencing the first year of a Bachelor of Contemporary Music degree at Southern Cross University on-campus at either the Lismore or Coomera campus in 2024.
• Students must be studying full-time (minimum of three units per teaching session or 6–8 units per academic year).

Selection criteria:

• The standard of your 50-word response to "Why music matters to you".
• The ten best answers from commencing Bachelor of Contemporary Music students will be shortlisted.
• The successful recipient will be selected based on their audition as well as their 50-word response to “Why music matters to you” as assessed by the Scholarship selection committee.
