The Experimental Aircraft Association is offering the Ray Aviation Matching Scholarship Fund to support local students in alleviating the financial weight of their flight training.
Eligibility Criteria:
- The Applicants must be a minimum of age 15 for glider training.
- The Applicants must be a minimum of age 16-19 for powered flight training.
- The Applicants must possess a student pilot certificate.
- The Applicants must submit an FAA medical certificate.
- The Applicants must be able to begin their flight training within 60 days of receiving the award.
Application Process:
- The application takes place in two ways: Chapter Applications and Scholar Applications.
- In Chapter Applications, the candidate must first apply to the Chapter and then forward the scholarship application.
- In Scholar Applications, the scholars are nominated by chapters with full scholarship.
- The selected candidates should fulfill the following requirements:
- Partake in two hours of chapter volunteer service per month.
- Submit regular progress reports during monthly check-ins.
- Reach designated flight training milestones, as outlined by EAA's training timeline.
Value of the Scholarship:
- Chapters that have successfully mentored at least one Ray Scholar are eligible for a 25/75 matching scholarship.
- The chapter commits 25% of the award and Ray Foundation will fund the other 75%.
