The goal of the project is to address the underrepresentation of patients who identify as culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) in the use of Northern Health's Virtual Emergency Department, Australia's first such platform since its launch in 2023. In addition, it looks into why fewer clinicians use virtual platform interpreting services than traditional phone interpreting services. The project will significantly aid in their efforts to improve the health and wellness of CALD patients and involves a three-month internship situated at the Northern Hospital.
Eligibility criteria:
To be eligible, applicants must:
- Have a masters degree with research components and a minor thesis achieving distinction or above.
- Be familiar with interpreting and translation studies.
- Have solid understanding and/or experience in both qualitative and quantitative research methods.
