Elementary Teacher-Credentialing Scholarship
The Elementary Teacher-Credentialing Scholarship is designed to support full-time students who are pursuing a career in elementary education, specifically those enrolled in teacher-credentialing or preparation programs. This scholarship aims to assist students who demonstrate a passion for teaching, especially in multicultural and diverse classroom environments, and who are committed to serving children from underprivileged backgrounds. The award is intended to fund as many full scholarships as possible, helping students in their academic journey as they prepare to become educators who can make a significant difference in the lives of children in public schools.

Eligibility

To qualify for the Elementary Teacher-Credentialing Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Full-Time Enrollment:

• Applicants must be full-time students in good academic standing in an elementary teacher-credentialing or preparation program.

Passion for Multiculturalism:

• Applicants should have a history of activities that demonstrate a passion for teaching multiculturalism to all children in public schools.
• This can include involvement in multicultural education initiatives, programs, or activities.

Desire to Serve Impoverished and Diverse Children:

• Applicants must express a particular desire to serve children from impoverished circumstances and diverse backgrounds.
• This can be demonstrated through past experiences or future career aspirations.

Experience in Community-Based Education:

• Applicants must have experience in community-based education that involves working with families.

First-Generation College Preference:

• Preference will be given to applicants who are first-generation college graduates in their families.
• The scholarship may continue to support the recipient throughout their program of study, as long as they maintain eligibility.

• Award Amount: $1,000.00

Scope:

• This scholarship is available to full-time students within the College of Education who are pursuing elementary teacher-credentialing or preparation programs.

Renewability:

• The scholarship may continue to follow the recipient until they complete their program of study, provided they continue to meet the eligibility criteria.
