Iraq and Afghanistan Service Grant (IASG)

Eligibility

The Iraq and Afghanistan Service Grant (IASG) is available to:

• Dependent undergraduate students who have a parent or guardian who served in the military and died as a result of service in Iraq or Afghanistan after September 10, 2001.
• The student must be under 24 years of age and not eligible for a Pell Grant.

Application Process

To apply for the Iraq and Afghanistan Service Grant (IASG):

• Complete and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
• The Department of Education will determine the student’s eligibility for the grant based on the FAFSA.
• The student will receive a notification of eligibility, which they can submit to their chosen educational institution to have their award calculated.
