International Musicians Merit Scholarship

• The International Musicians Merit Scholarship is designed to assist advanced musicians from outside the United States in their educational development at Musicians Institute (MI).
• This scholarship is aimed at students who wish to pursue music programs at MI and is available to those enrolled in specific programs.

Eligibility

• The scholarship is available to international students holding a valid F-1 visa. It can be applied to the Certificate or Degree programs in Guitar, Bass, Vocal, Drum, Keyboard Performance, or Music Composition (MI Select and MI Select Express programs are not eligible).
• The scholarship is only available to newly enrolled students.

Requirements

• To apply, students must be accepted into a program at Musicians Institute and have submitted their Admissions Application.
• The scholarship amount will be divided equally across the quarters of the program, credited toward tuition for each term as long as the student maintains a 2.75 GPA.
• The scholarship is non-transferable and can only be applied to the specific program and start date for which it was awarded.

Application Checklist

Applicants need to submit:

• A one-page essay describing themselves and explaining why they should be considered for the scholarship, including their musical background and aspirations.
• YouTube URL containing three performances: two songs in different styles with an ensemble (accompanied by at least one other live musician) and one solo piece.
• Musicians Institute Acceptance Letter from the Admissions Department.
  Award
• Scholarship Amount: $1,000 to $2,000 per term
• Length: The duration of the program, awarded each term as long as the GPA requirement is maintained.
