    The Westmoreland Scholarship

    Eligibility

    To qualify for the Westmoreland Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

    Minimum GPA:

    • A minimum GPA of 3.5 is required.

    Enrollment Requirements:

    Applicants must be enrolled at least part-time in an eligible program:

    • Undergraduate or credential students must be enrolled in at least 6 units.
    • Graduate students must be enrolled in at least 4 units.

    Teacher Education Credential Student:

    • Applicants must be enrolled in a teacher education credential program.

    Financial Need:

    • Applicants must qualify for financial aid.Alternatively, applicants can meet this requirement by being a first-generation college student or coming from an underrepresented group in teaching.

    Letter of Recommendation:

    • Applicants must submit one letter of recommendation from someone who is knowledgeable about the candidate’s work with children.
    • This letter should specifically highlight the candidate's strengths or potential strengths in teaching.
    • Additionally, the recipient must write a thank you note to the donor expressing appreciation for the scholarship.
