The Chevening OCIS Fellowship Programme is offering research fellowships to mid-career professionals to undertake independent study at the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies. The fellowship is for individuals dedicated to promoting the understanding of the culture and civilization of Islam.
Eligibility Criteria for the Scholarship:
- Applicants must be passport holders of:
- Afghanistan, Algeria, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Libya, Malaysia, Morocco, Nigeria, Pakistan, the Occupied Palestinian Territories, Philippines, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, Turkmenistan, or Uzbekistan.
- Applicants must return to their country of origin after the fellowship.
- Applicants must not hold British or dual-British citizenship.
- Applicants must have a working knowledge of English.
- Applicants must have a significant professional or academic research experience of a minimum of five years.
- Applicants must display the potential to be an influential leader.
- Applicants must hold a master's level qualification (or equivalent professional training or experience in a relevant area).
- Applicants must not be employees or relatives of employees of His Majesty’s Government or have been within the last two years from the opening of Chevening applications.
