The prize was created in honor of Miss Ruth Dobson, the first Australian woman to hold a career diplomat position.
Eligibility for ANU Ruth Dobson Scholarship 2024:
- The student is international or domestic;
- Student is enrolling in the Master of Diplomacy (Advanced) or Master of Diplomacy graduate degree program;
- Student has achieved a GPA of 6 (out of 7) in their undergraduate degree.

- Two academic written references
Selection is made based on the strength of the case for a scholarship, references, and academic merit. The scholarship has been established to commemorate Australia's first female career diplomat to be an Australian ambassador, Miss Ruth Dobson.
