The city is committed to supporting equal access to higher education for forced migrants. The Sanctuary Scholarship consists of full tuition fee support and a grant to help with the costs of living.
Eligibility Criteria for the Sanctuary Scholarship:
- Applicants must have received a conditional or unconditional offer of full-time Undergraduate study from City, University of London, having applied through UCAS.
- Candidates must be new full-time entrants to City and starting the first year of their degree as new students (i.e. those starting in Year 2, Year 3 and Year 4 are not eligible.)
- Students should be currently attending a school, college, community, or voluntary group that can provide a reference in support of their application and must not hold an undergraduate/postgraduate degree awarded in the UK and/or abroad.
Application Process:
Students must submit an application form to the university to be eligible for the scholarship.
Value of the scholarship:
The Sanctuary Scholarship provides a full tuition fee waiver a grant equivalent to a full maintenance loan from Student Finance England, and a grant equivalent to the City Cares bursary, to cover living expenses.
