The Fund's objective is to assist University of Music students with costs related to their pursuit of musical education in fields for which they would not otherwise be eligible for funding. Its main purpose is to provide funding for initiatives like master classes or summer music schools. Applications for prizes to be used between the time of graduation and the conclusion of the summer break at the university will be given priority.
Eligibility for the JH Britton Fund for Music:
- Applicants of the JH Britton Fund for Music must be current Music undergraduates and postgraduates.
- Interested candidates are advised to discuss their proposals with the Director of Teaching before submitting them.
Note:
An award will not normally be given more than once to the same person, but in the case of research students, it may be renewed if the report on their work is good.
Application Process:
Written applications with complete costs and information on how the funds will be utilized should be sent to the Head of Subject (Music). A subsequent letter from the award winner to the Head of Subject detailing the purpose for which the funds were used is a requirement of the award.
