The RSWA John Glover Research Support Grants (natural sciences, anthropology and archaeology) at Curtin University 2023

The Royal Society of Western Australia received a bequest from Dr John Glover, aimed at advancing science in Western Australia. To honor Dr Glover’s passion for science, the gift has been used to establish a research support grant program for students of natural and physical sciences, anthropology, and archaeology.

Eligibility for the RSWA John Glover Research Support Grants (natural sciences, anthropology, and archaeology):

• Applicants must be full-time students in 2024.
• Candidates must be actively undertaking their research during the calendar year for which the grant is being sought (i.e. 2024).
• The research topic must not be in any of the following fields:
• • Health and Medical research
  • Engineering
  • Agriculture Sciences except where relevant to natural sciences in Western Australia
• While the research project MUST be on a topic physically linked to Western Australia, funding can be used to support travel to enhance the research project. The research does not need to be relevant to Western Australia only.

Application Process:

Students need to submit an application form to the university to be eligible for the scholarship.

Benefits:

$15,000 which will be allocated as follows:

• $5,000 directly to the recipient as a top-up stipend
• $10,000 towards research costs and project maintenance.
